Quanzhou Institute of Information Engineering is a full-time application-oriented undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education.

The school is located in the first batch of famous historical and cultural cities in the country, the cultural capital of East Asia, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, and the world heritage city—the urban area of Quanzhou. The school builds a garden-style campus, with fragrance in all seasons, and you can see the scenery when you open the window. Ancient and famous trees can be seen everywhere. The campus greening rate is above 70%. It is the most beautiful courtyard greening unit in Quanzhou.

The school insists on "facing the industry and serving the local area", focusing on engineering, and the coordinated development of engineering, economics, management, art and other disciplines; it now offers 35 undergraduate majors; the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering 8 colleges and general education centers including School of Software, School of Creative Design, School of Civil Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of International Education, School of Marxism, and three industrial schools of ICT, integrated circuits, and intelligent manufacturing. At present, there are 3 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 national-level first-class undergraduate course, 8 provincial-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 3 provincial-level applied disciplines, and 2 provincial-level demonstration application-oriented professional groups. There are 3 characteristic majors in the service industry of colleges and universities at the provincial level, and 5 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot majors.

Approved as a master's degree conferring training unit in Fujian Province and a first-class application-oriented undergraduate university training unit in Fujian Province. The school strengthens the role of practical teaching in cultivating applied talents. There are Fujian Demonstration Academician Expert Workstation, National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center Fujian Application Center, Additive Manufacturing National Research Institute Fujian Applied Technology Research Institute, Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry-Education Integration Innovation Base, and 4 key experiments of universities in Fujian Province Science and technology innovation research platforms such as laboratories, 3 engineering research centers of universities in Fujian Province, 2 humanities and social science bases of universities in Fujian Province, and 1 Collaborative Innovation Center of Fujian Province; Construction, Quanzhou Industrial Training Base, Quanzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Public Training Base and other experimental training bases, as well as a number of teaching laboratories such as Fujian Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center; there are many college students The Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Incubation) Base is a demonstration site of the National Demonstration Base for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the first batch of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Parks for College Students in Fujian Province, an Entrepreneurship Incubation Base for College Graduates, and a Mass Creation Space in Quanzhou. In addition, it has established industry-university-research cooperation bases with 177 well-known domestic and foreign companies such as Bosch Rexroth, Festo Group, Siemens, and ZTE Corporation; it has led the establishment of Quanzhou Information, Machinery, and Intelligent Manufacturing Vocational Education Group, Quanzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Vocational College Alliance.

The school adheres to open education, and has established substantive cooperation and exchange relations with more than 30 universities in more than 10 countries and regions, introducing and sharing high-quality international education and teaching resources in multiple aspects, levels, forms, and fields. Approved by the Ministry of Education, the Ukrainian Academy of Arts, a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution, was established in cooperation with the Ukrainian University of Arts, and the Sino-US 4+0 joint undergraduate education program for dual-degree undergraduate education was launched with the University of Pennsylvania Slippery Rock. With the strong support of the governments of Fujian Province and Rhine-Flanders, Germany, the "Sino-German (Fujian) Educational Cooperation and Development Center" was jointly established with the German Rhine-Flanders State, which is a high-quality teacher training base for the Ministry of Education.
